Branding New York City - Kates Paperie

One of my favorite stores in New York is Kates Paperie. They have hundreds of adorable stationery lines and other crafty stuff. They recently got a new branding systems that I think it really exquisite. I love the hand made feel and color palette. They also have these great new bags although I couldn't find a picture to show you. Anyone know who is responsible for this beautiful overhaul?

Cardboard Office

Ex-executive directors of DDB, Michael Jansen and Bas Korsten, started a new company creative agency based in Amsterdam called Nothing. The office, designed by Alrik Koudenburg is built entirely out of cardboard. It looks pretty cool but how structurally safe can those stairs really be?

New Eco Packaging Northface

North Face has been a leader of high-tech outdoor gear for years, but they didn't feel their packaging portrayed their commitment to the environment and sustainable business practices. They hired San Francisco based firm, Chen Design to redesign their hang tag and pacakaging to reflect their "green" values. The new system utilizes high percentages of post-consumer content and soy-based inks.

Method Baby Packaging

Method's new baby packaging uses beautiful curved shapes. In the past these sort of contours were very limited because no label would stick to them. But Eastman Innocation Labs has developed their Embrace line which can encircles the bottle, rather than just being applied as a sticker to the front or back. This is a truly innovative process which allows for 360 degree decoration.

Tropicana Packaging Falls Flat

I am sure many of you where surprised by the radically new design of the Tropicana packaging by creative agency Arnell. PepsiCo launched a huge advertising campaign behind the design plastering subway stops and magazine pages alike. But consumers did not take to the dramatically altered, clean, modern design and after many complaints PepsiCo will be reverting Tropicana to its old look. Although I hear they are keeping sliced orange screw-top. According to AgencySpy the cost to Tropicana will top $35 million.
