Orla Kiely New Pattern

I came across this new notecard pattern by Orla Kiely on the Print & Pattern blog. It is more delicate than some of Orla's other patterns. But I like how the color scheme blends it in to the rest of her line.

Bird Wallpaper

Trove, a design company based in Chicago designed this hitchock inspired wall paper. They received the Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design in the Graphics category. Other winning designs will be at the Good Design Show in Chicago.

New Eco Font

Dutch agency Spranq has created a new font called Ecofont. It is designed to extend the life of ink cartridges and toners. It supposedly uses up to 20 percent less ink than traditional fonts.

Color Trend - Pantone Picks Mimosa

Pantone, the authority on Color, officially named PANTONE 14-0848 Mimosa as the color of the year for 2009. They said this color is engaging and reassuring. This warm gold yellow is actually one of my favorite colors to design with. It is wonderful to use an accent color because it goes nicely with so many other colors.

Hashish Candle by Jonathan Adler

I was perusing the new Jonathan Adler store near my house when I spotted this hilarious candle. The candle is scented with black currant, green apple, wormwood, patchouli and moss.

Jill Bliss Illustrations

I recently came across the artist and designer Jill Bliss's website. I like her whimsical paintings and how she displayed her small works in these two different environments.
